With the partnership of “Tree Connect” and FamilySearch it is now easy to capture source information from anywhere on the web and then have it placed into your Source Box in FamilySearch with minimal effort. The application is free and easy to put onto your computer. Here is how you do it.

To download the Tree Connect tool, go to RecordSeek.com. When it comes up you will see a black bar with the a green bar containing the words "Tree Connect." Left click the green bar and drag it to your Favorites bar. That's it. If you can see "Tree Connect" on that bar, then you have it. If not, do it again. Truly, that is all it takes to put this program on your computer. Now you can easily add the sources you find on sites other than FamilySearch to your FamilySearch "Souce Box."
Once you have discovered a webpage source you wish to add to your Source Box on FamilySearch, simply click on the “Tree Connect” tab on your tool bar. You will be directed to sign into your FamilySearch account. Then a source form will appear partially filled out. It is recommended that you create your own source title that will help you recognize the source in the future. Next, enter identifying information in the “Describe the Record” box. Once this is completed, click the “Save” button. The source is then saved to your Source Box for you to attach to the appropriate person or persons in your family records.
