Learn What Great Things You Can Do With Your
Ipad, Tablet and Apps for Genealogy

Come take a class at the St. George FamilySearch Library (SGFSL) this week to learn how your iPad or Tablet can become one of your favorite Genealogy assistants. When you learn how to use this friendly technology, you will be excited about all you can do. Look over the advantages available for you with your Ipads or Tablets below, and then come to the SGFSL for any of our free classes offered this Monday through Friday to teach you how to use and: . .
- Get easy access to your genealogy records away from home through FamilySearch, Ancestry, My Heritage, and more apps.
- Take pictures of records, family treasures, family members and more that you find and want to save.
- Because of the pictures and records you can save, you can then share them and even add them to your personal records. Being able to actually see copies of original records helps to develop and enjoy the reality of your family members and records.
- When you are at a library, family history center, a relative's, etc., you can use your iPad, phone or tablet to take digital pictures which is saving you time and money rather than using photocopies or maybe even not being able to leave with a copy. You can also use your personal technology devices to get copies of images you find on microfilmed records. (Take note that some locations would like you to ask for permission to photograph their records.)
- One of the many helpful additions to our technical tools is Evernote. It is free and offers a variety of assistance including: the ability to organize a variety of collecting records and information that you can see no matter where you are as long as you have your smart phone, iPad, tablet or lap top.
- One of the biggest surprises may be that you can actually hear and even see learning opportunities such as podcasts, webinars, and even books and magazines through your iPad, smart phone, tablet, and lap top.
If any of these sound valuable to you, come to the SGFSL and attend as many of this week's classes as you want to attend. This is a great opportunity to make genealogy even easier and more beneficial for you and your family.
