Welcome to the new St. George Family History Center’s new Blog/Website which is replacing our monthly newsletter. We are excited about this new approach because with the blog and website we will be able to provide much more information and in turn, get that information to our readers more frequently and in a timelier manner. You will not have to wait a month to see what we are offering. Instead of sometimes missing events altogether due to the newsletter’s once monthly pattern, now you can easily stay up to date and plan more effectively. We will be able to update information daily if necessary, and the offerings will be timely and more detailed. When an event changes, we can update the website’s calendar and notification to our readers will be immediate through our blog. Another benefit of this new system is that the blog’s articles will be archived monthly on the same site giving readers easy access to past articles at any time. I encourage you to take time to click on the list of the websites offerings on the top of this page and again in the list to right. I believe you will be pleased with what you see.
As we move toward a new center and have more class offerings and more ways to take those classes, you will constantly be kept up to date through the blog. We will be able to post the number of available spaces in a class and update it continuously, so you can see if there is room for more students. If a class fills, we will be able to move it to a larger room if necessary and this will allow us to be so much more flexible than we are today. As we start the new, blog along with our new website, all of you who have asked for the newsletter will be given access to the blog/newsletter in the same manner as you had been receiving the newsletter on line.
We look forward to this new way of serving our patrons and hope you will contribute your ideas to help make this a success.
