Have you ever wanted to attend a class at the Family History Library, but you could not afford the gas or the plane tickets to get here? Recognizing the limitations many of you face, the Family History Library has begun online webinars as a way to share their expertise with the world.
For Spanish speakers, online webinars are a regular occurrence. These presentations are designed specifically for Spanish speaking researchers in Spain and Latin America. The themes include topics for beginners and intermediate researchers and are taught by the research specialists from the Family History Library Latin America team.

The first Saturday class has been designated as a class for beginners while the third Saturday class is for . . .

intermediates to advanced researchers. Our most recent class held on May 3 drew 88 attendees from 12 countries around the world.

These classes are taught simultaneously at the Family History Library so if you are one of the lucky ones who lives near Salt Lake City, we invite you to come view the class in person to allow space online for those who live outside the area.

Date: Every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month-

Time: 1:00 pm Mountain Time (Daylight Time until November 2) with the exception of the first Saturday in April and October (Note: No classes are held in December).

We’ll also discuss how to use a research log and the importance of using family group sheets, pedigree charts, and extraction forms.

June 21: Encontrando a nuestros primos. This class will highlight descendancy research, Puzzilla.org, and other ways to fill out all the branches of your family tree.

July 5: Árbol Familiar para principiantes. Are you a beginner with Family Tree? This class is for you. How to get started, entering and editing information, combining records, and other important principles for beginners.

July 19: ¿Y ahora qué? Cómo hacer la investigación genealógica. This is our basic methodology class designed for those who have gathered their family information and are ready to begin their research. We will do a couple of case studies demonstrating the research process.
