On Sunday, April 13, 2014, Elder Brimhall, the Area Representative and Seventy of the Church of Jesus Christ, released Elder Bryce Jones and Sister Nicole Jones as Directors of the St. George FamilySearch Library. He then introduced Sister Diane Loosle as the new Director.

Sister Loosle is currently the Director of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. She oversees every Family Search Library and Family History Center under the direction of the Church Of Jesus Christ throughout the world. Diane is a certified genealogist with a degree in Family History from BYU and a Master of Business Administration from the U of U.  She grew up in Springville, Utah and is married to Michael Loosle.

Although her stay may be limited to a few months, her knowledgeable training will remain and help to prepare our missionaries and our facility for the future.

When Elder and Sister Jones became directors of the St. George FamilySearch Library last September,  they were encouraged to create an environment to bring more people into the SGFS Library particularly . . .

families and the youth.  Their enthusiastic determination to meet the challenge brought about exciting activities such as the Italian Cultural Night, the Spanish Night, the Family Room, the Story Booth and the GenealogyNow Expo. They also made the FamilySearch Library more welcoming through an attractive redecoration program including new wall colors, beautiful framed artwork, and a family room. Elder and Sister Jones accomplished a great deal as they generously gave of their time and talents to meet the required goals and to serve the FamilySearch Library.

Elder and Sister Anderson and Elder and Sister Jensen served as Assistant Directors to Elder and Sister Jones.

Elder and Sister Anderson have served as Assistant Directors under six different Directors since they started at the Family History Center in 2008.  Elder Marlowe Anderson, a hardworking, determined man with a kind, gentle presence had previously served as a U.S. Air Force Pilot. For the past six years, he has tirelessly and expertly managed the complex technology needed to keep a Family History facility running. He also teaches a class in using military records to find valuable family history information.

Sister Alice Anderson has, over her six years of service, become the “go to person” for just about anything needed.  She has kindly used her gifts of leadership and organization along with her extensive knowledge of genealogy, computers, teaching and accounting in caring for the needs of the Family History Library, the missionaries and patrons. The Andersons have generously shared their time and talents over the past six years because of their love for this work.
