If you do not have a membership with any of the three websites except FamilySearch, you may be asked for a payment. If you are an LDS member but you have not signed up for membership in one or more of the websites listed, you may still sign up for one or all three at no further cost. If your membership in FamilySearch is not an LDS membership but you have a membership in any of the other three websites, you can sign in with that site with no need for further payment if your membership with that site covers the level of information that is offered to you. If you are not a member of any of these sites and do not wish to become one, you can choose to pay the requested price or not. The other option is to only use the green FamilySearch link. If you are in a Family History Center, you can use all of the four websites listed at no cost. Always feel free to ask for help if you need it whenever you are in one of the Family History Centers or FamilySearch Libraries.
logos takes you to that site and initiates a global search of that site’s records. When you arrive at the site, you are already looking at the results of your search. Search results are based on whatever information you have for that person in FamilySearch Family Tree, so names, birth date, spouse name, etc. It is a simple and efficient way to search vast databases of genealogically relevant information with a single click.
Go to FamilySearch Family Tree and try it out on your own person page. From there you can jump around to ancestors and try searching genealogy records on the other sites to see what you can find. This is bound to speed up your research, and you just might discover records you have never seen before.
