Indexers - What Will You Do After the 1940 Census?

honing of skills needed for a much longer and perhaps a more challenging effort. There is a “mountain” of work left to be done, and it resides in the Granite Mountain Record Vault.  The billions of records in this vault are being digitized and made available by FamilySearch at an astounding rate, and researchers around the world are grateful.  It is by indexing that these records are being made searchable, so every indexer needs to be prepared to forge ahead in this endeavor.

The LDS church has prepared a way for us to look into the “Mountain” through two fascinating videos that make you feel that you are having a personal tour with your own guide. Be of good cheer. There is no danger of running out of records for a long time to come. You might even consider going to some of the language lessons on FamilySearch to prepare to index records from other countries.
