How are you doing with Family Tree? If you are not yet totally comfortable with it and have not learned how to add, change, correct, merge, reserve ordinances or include sources, come to one or both of our classes. We offer two Family Tree Classes: Family Tree Overview and Family Tree Elements. They are both among our most popular classes,         but how do they differ? Check the "Calendar" and/or the Currant Class List for dates.

Family Tree Overview

1.  This is a four hour class taught in
      two, two hour sessions.
2.  The class is lecture, power-point
      based.
3.  A CD is given to each student
containing the class concepts and a        printable manual.
4.  Students may ask questions.
5.  The class is taught by Dennis Weist

Family Tree Elements

1. This is a four day class taught in
     two hour sessions each time.
2. This class is a hands-on computer
      class.
3.  Each student has a computer to
      work through each concept
4.   Students may ask questions and
       get computer help.
5.  The class is taught by Dianne
        Graham
Dennis Weist describes his class as an "Overview," but it is exceptionally informative and well presented. Dianne Graham assists each of her students as they learn  to use Family Tree on the computer. Both are excellent teachers and know Family Tree thoroughly. They suggest that you take both classes. The Overview to prepare you, and the computer class to help you put it all into practice. The March dates make that easy to do. The Overview class is March 11 &12  at 1:30-3:30, and Family Tree Elements is March 18, 21, 25, 28 at 1:30 - 3:30 each day. Look it over and decide which method works for you.

Both Teachers Cover The Following Topics:

1.  Learning the basics of getting into and using Family Tree
2.  Adding husband and wife names
3.  Adding children
4.  Adding birth, marriage, death information
5.  Adding additional extended family members
6.  How to make changes and/or corrections
7.  Adding proof of the information you added/changed
8.  Learning to merge needed records
9.  Finding Sources on FamilySearch
10. Adding and deleting sources to FamilyTree records
11. Learning how to use "My Source Box"
12. Adding custom events
13. Learning to Tag, Reserve, and Print Ordinance
14. And more
