
The tagging tools in FamilySearch Photos and Stories allow you to identify the faces of ancestors and link them to the Family Tree. Once a tag is added, you may find it necessary to edit or remove the tag—if it is centered strangely, it isn’t big enough to capture the person’s entire face, or you entered a name that, well, just isn’t correct. Never fear: tags can be edited!
Fixing a Name:
A new enhancement to the photos tool makes it easy to fix an incorrectly typed name for an individual who has already been tagged. To fix the name:
The placement and size of a tag are important since they is used to set what is shown as the preferred portrait of an individual (if the photo has been chosen as the preferred portrait). It is also helpful sometimes to be able to make a tag smaller to accommodate tags for other individuals in the photo (such as in a family photo in which faces nearly overlap). To resize a tag:
If the tag you created is incorrect, you can always delete it and start over. To delete a tag:

- Select the ancestor for whom the name needs to be fixed from the People in this Photo list at the right of the photo view.
- Choose Edit Tag from the options list. The tag will highlight on the image.
- Select the current name, and make the change.
- Click Save to save the change.

- Click and drag one of the four edges of the tag to resize the boundaries of the tag. Click on the center of the tag, and drag to reposition the tag.
- Click Save to save the change.

- Click Remove Tag. The tag will be deleted.
