How to Insert a Photo - A brief Reminder by Cynthia Van Dam
After you upload the photos, click on a face. A box opens. type the name of the person and hit new if this is the first picture of that person. They will be tagged. Now you can hit people up at the top. It shows all the photos that aren’t linked to people. Click on a photo again. Now another screen pops up. Click on the little red exclamation point. Now you will be able to search for the person.you can put in names and dates or you can go to familytree and copy the person’s id number and search for that back in photos. When you find the right person, select them and that links the photo to the person.
“Related People” pull-down
A new pull-down menu, located next to the Share Person pull-down, offers a new view of the linked people within one generation of the person listed on the person page, including parents, siblings, and children. This new feature tool makes it easy way to:
Comment notification
One of the ways Photos and Stories is collaborative is through the use of the Comment feature. Found on both the photo and story pages, this tool allows you and others to clarify or add details to the image or story. Keeping track of comments added to any one submission can be difficult. To help, we have added a notification system to alert you when a comment is added to any of the photos and stories you have published. The notification will contain the name of the commenter, the comment, and a link to quickly visit the comment on the website.

Name editing
There has been a subtle update to the way you edit an album name or a person’s name on the photos page. If you want or need to make a change to the name, simply click it. The name becomes an editable field. Once you have made the change, select the check mark to accept it or the “x” to cancel it.
