Here at the FamilySearch Library we have a very special binder filled with a very special collection of inspirational stories we call “Elijah Moments.” These are actual sacred experiences pertaining to genealogy and showing how close we really are to our ancestors on the other side of the veil.
Frequently we will share other Elijah Moments with you, and we invite you to submit your own “Elijah Moments” with us. Click on "Read More" below to read an example and learn how to submit your own "Elijah Moment."

They Wanted my Errors Corrected So Their Work Could Be Done
While at the St George Family History Training Center, I was researching an ancestor. One of the other missionaries approached me and asked if he could show me something on Ancestry.com. There he found what appeared to be my ancestor and his wife along with birth dates, birthplaces and a list of nine children, the youngest of which was my great-great-grandmother. What was interesting was that this information was different from the family record that I copied from my uncle. My records were wrong! I had the wrong line!
With a few months of research in verifying sources, I felt that I have now straightened out, corrected and enlarged this family in my genealogy.
The missionary’s unsolicited offer (he apparently felt prompted) has convinced me that someone on the other side of the veil felt it necessary to get my attention so I could correct a tragic mistake in our family records.
Elijah Moments Submission Form
Purpose: We are commanded to keep a Book of Remembrance. In the FamilySearch Library both our Staff and Patrons experience spiritual experiences on a frequent basis. They are a testimony to each of us that the Spirit of Elijah is operating in our lives almost daily as we seek to find our ancestors. We ask staff and patrons to share their experiences with us so that they can be recorded in the FamilySearch Library history. These faith building testimonies would then be available for use in the FamilySearch Library to read and ponder as we are engaged in this great work.
Please type on a separate sheet the following information to submit to the Elijah Moments project:
