2015 is here! Have you thought about what you'd like to accomplish this year in your family history research?

Following are some tips that MyHeritage offers. They have added links from which additional information can be gathered.

This is a good opportunity to become more acquainted with My Heritage.Looking beyond the Todays to Do List, can be very enlightening.

Here are some tips for a successful year in your genealogy journey from MyHeritage.com:

1. Visit the towns of your ancestors. Organize a family trip this year and see where they lived, where they went to school, and other important places from your ancestors' stories.

2. Any new births in the family? Update your family tree with new information. If you visit family, use the MyHeritage mobile app to edit your tree on-the-go.

3. Plan a family reunion, visit close family members, or plan to meet relatives you may have just discovered. Come prepared with questions to record their stories and anecdotes to fill in the gaps of your family tree.

4. Scan and digitize old photos or documents and upload them to your MyHeritage family site. Take new family photos at gatherings and add those as well to preserve and share those family memories.

5. Join a local genealogical society, or learn new tips to help organize your research. Participate in our monthly webinars which offer tips on advancing family history research.

What are your genealogical goals for this year?

Wishing you and your family a Happy New Year!
