The 43rd Conference on Family History and Genealogy will offer more than 100 classes, allowing participants to gain new skills and helpful information. Class topics include Beginning Family History, FamilySearch, Writing the Narrative Family History, Using Computers, Internet and Technology, Basic Research Methodologies, Using the BYU Harold B. Lee Library, Research in the United States and Canada, Colonial America, International Research, Methodology, British Research, and Tips for Professional Genealogists.
Keep in mind that limited on campus housing is available. For more information call (801) 422-4853. The conference will be in the BYU Conference Center (770 East University Parkway, Provo, Utah).
Two Hands–On Workshops will be offered on Tuesday — pre–registration is REQUIRED for these two workshops. See the 2012 Conference Schedule for more information.

Tuesday, July 31st Richard E. Turley Jr. was appointed assistant Church historian and recorder for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter–day Saints on March 12, 2008. Under his guidance in 1999, the Family History Department launched the popular FamilySearch.org website. He received a bachelor’s degree in English from Brigham Young University, and later graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School.
Wednesday, August 1st John Titford, a Londoner by birth, works as a writer, broadcaster, researcher and genealogical bookseller, is a regular feature writer and genealogical consultant for Family Tree magazine, and has lectured on family history, dialect and related topics throughout Britain, in the United States of America, the Caribbean, New Zealand and elsewhere.
Thursday, August 2nd Rod DeGiulio is currently serving as a Senior Executive Vice President of FamilySearch International with responsibility for the acquisition, digitization, data treatments, and online publication of high value genealogical records from all over the world. In addition to an intense passion for Italian genealogical research, Rod enjoys backpacking, traveling, reading, living in downtown Salt Lake City, and especially spending time with his wife and their nine beautiful grandchildren.
Also featuring a special presentation on FamilySearch’s new Family Tree by Ron Tanner.
Ron Tanner is a product manager for the Family History Department. His primary responsibility is to lead a team doing research and design of Family Tree, new.familysearch.org and companion products. Ron has a master's degree in Computer Science from BYU and has previously worked as a product manager and engineer at Novell, Citrix, and Bell Laboratories.
