First, our St. George FamilySearch Library (SGFSL) closed its doors for ever so that
the new building can be completed, opened and given its new name,

The second major event is  on the same date and time, our greatly loved directors, Elder Michael Mickelson and Sister Janice Mickelson was released from the three year mission they have successfully served.

They were warmly honored the Friday evening before at the SGFSL Quarterly Mission Conference in several heart touching ways; some before and some after they were asked to share their own thoughts and experiences. There was an over-flowing gathering made up of nearly everyone who had worked under their leadership.

They will always be lovingly remembered because of their examples of kindness and determination to be effective in their calling. They were never idle; rather always sharing, helping, teaching, learning, preparing, fixing, or planning for the next special event. If you were looking for them, you might try their office, but you would rarely find them there. Your best bet was to look around among our patrons and missionaries. They were usually out there giving, teaching or welcoming in one way or another – a remarkable example for the rest of us. We are sad to see them go, but we want them to know that it has been a special experience to serve with them. We send them with our love and friendship and remind them that the doors to the new St. George FamilySearch Center will always be open for them.

We have gratefully learned from their examples of constant kindness and determination to be effective in their calling. We are sad to see them go, but we want them to know that we have learned from them and we love them. We send them with our love and friendship and remind them that the doors in the new St. George FamilySearch Center will always be open for them.

We send them with our love and friendship and remind them that the doors to the new St. George FamilySearch Center will always be open for them, but we think the Michelsons would want us to also express appreciation for their seven Assistant Directors with whom they dilligently served and worked, planned and impressively met the needs of this facility and our missionaries and patrons. Below is a picture and names of all the 8 assisting directors with the Michelsons in the front center. We hope the comments of this article represent each and every missionary and patron who has served, learned and been encouraged through the warm and constant supporting manner from each and every one of the “Directors” at this facility.
